The Cyrus Power-XR High End Power Amplifier is the latest and best performing stereo power amplifier currently available from Cyrus. Being a part of the high-end XR series, it offers uncompromising performance, and due to its high current efficiency and extended high frequency response of 100kHz, will drive equally uncompromising speakers with relative ease.
Listeners will immediately observe that the amp is much faster, offers an extremely low noise floor and accurately follows the musical signal fed into it. This results in a musical experience that is far more faithful, yet remains a true Cyrus experience!
As with all compatible XR products, the Power-XR has been designed to benefit from our most advanced external optional power supply – the PSU-XR. This combination works particularly well here as the PSU-XR offers unregulated power as one of its output voltages, and both the power supply of the Power-XR and PSU-XR will work together to boost the power of the power amp section for added control, scale and dynamics of the musical experience. In this combination, the power in this combination increases from 110WPC to 121WPC (6ohm load).

The Cyrus Power-XR High End Power Amplifier completes the new XR-series family and means that you can now optimise the sound and style of the Pre-XR with a matching power amp. As an XR model, it benefits from the latest aesthetics, improved control functionality, cleaner sound and the option of the upgraded PSU-XR.
Designed to be paired with the Cyrus Pre-XR, but also great with many other devices, the Cyrus Power-XR amplifier packs an impressive punch. With 87 watts per channel using 8 ohm speakers and up to 144 watts with 4 ohm speakers, it has effortless reserves of power to easily fill larger rooms with sound. Extremely low levels of distortion and a wide frequency response means that the power is delivered cleanly, producing lifelike detail, even at higher volume levels.
Although this is a punchy-sounding amp when needed, Cyrus hasn’t forgotten about its reputation for precision and detail. Hand built in the UK, the Power-XR shows typical Cyrus attention to detail. Within the high quality casing is an oversized toroidal mains transformer and high output capacitors. Combined with the short signal path circuitry, this delivers typical Cyrus sound – dynamic, precise and with every subtle detail finely reproduced.
As well as the more usual RCA phono inputs, the Power-XR also features balanced XLR connections. Use these with a matching Cyrus pre-amp, such as the Pre-XR, and you’ll enjoy a studio quality, ultra-low noise connection. Balanced cables isolate outside noise, letting you enjoy a clearer signal – especially over longer lengths.
As good as the Cyrus Power-XR High End Power Amplifier is, it can be made better still by adding a PSU-XR power supply. Over the past three decades, Cyrus’s famous PSX power supplies have been a ‘must have’ upgrade, and the latest PSU-XR is no different. The PSU-XR provides the Power-XR with a smooth, stable power feed that helps bring out fine detail and musical subtlety, that’s otherwise lost in the mix. The result is even clearer, more spacious sound.
Now with a new Phantom Black finish and LED colour and brightness settings, the Power-XR looks slicker than ever. The die-cast casing is extremely solid and strongly resists both electrical and mechanical interference from surrounding sources. Integrated heat sink vents also keep it cool in the most discreet and stylish fashion. In terms of practically, Cyrus is a great space saver, with two units taking the space of one on most hi-fi shelves.
