Intuitive and highly adjustable foot design to achieve the perfect level
Rubber bungs are cleverly concealed within the design of the supports that carry the weight of the shelves and the equipment that sits on them. These small, flush-fitting bungs can be removed to allow the supports to be massloaded with inert acoustic material. The supports house various volumes for acoustically inert material, between one and five litres. This subtle design detail delivers a significant acoustic benefit. It allows the supports to become heavier, for greater structural rigidity of the entire Stax 2G unit, and also greatly reduces the vibration and resonances that might occur within a serious high-fidelity music system.
Silicone isolation pads are integrated between each shelf and into the base of the support. The density of these pads has been scientifically specified to a particular shore hardness by Monitor Audio Group’s acoustic engineers and tested over many, many iterations. These carefully selected silicone isolation pads ensure that shelf absorption works at its most optimum, reducing resonances and vibration being carried through the shelves, so that all you’ll hear is the high-fidelity sound of your system components.
Stax 2G is available with a choice of two types of shelves. Customers can choose between a sleek tempered glass shelf, which is finished in black, or a modern plywood shelf, which is available in a choice of natural or black ash veneers. Each of the shelves has been chosen for their load strength and inherently positive, acoustic properties, along with their physical design aesthetics – so that whatever electronics or source equipment is placed on them, they’ll remain completely rigid.
Achieving a perfectly level base is vitally important for high-fidelity furniture. That’s why Blok’s engineers have incorporated four cleverly designed feet into Stax 2G’s design. These can be adjusted easily using the supplied bespoke adjustment tool. Once the Stax 2G hi-fi rack has been fully-built and placed in its final position, the intuitive adjustment tool can be positioned over the foot assembly and rotated to increase or decrease the height of the foot. This allows the user to adjust, quickly, easily and with the minimum of effort, Stax 2G so that the entire rack can be made perfectly level. The foot assembly also features spikes and cleverly integrated rubber feet, so that the user can select the most appropriate foot for the flooring they have at home.
